Tackling Production Challenges with Technological Innovation

At China Hongqiao, innovation drives our success in China and in our international branches.

One such example of our Group’s dedication to innovation can be seen at the Indonesia Well Harvest Winning Alumina Refinery. During the challenging rainy season, we faced significant difficulties with the transportation of fly ash produced by the gasification furnace at the gas station. The high maintenance costs for vehicles, and the strenuous labor required from our personnel, posed a major obstacle.

In response, we put together a specialized innovation team focused on blending fly ash with boiler fuel. Our dedicated team successfully implemented a solution that enabled the complete blending and reuse of fly ash reduced coal consumption and improved working conditions. Their innovative solution also led to lowering labor intensity, reduced personnel requirements, and cut vehicle maintenance costs, resulting in significant economic benefits.

The fly ash blending system designed by the innovation team is the first of its kind in Indonesia and since its implementation, it has received praise for its economic and environmental impact.

We are very proud of our team whose cutting-edge solutions and quick action led to the successful integration of this system.

Their efforts were recognized at the 2023 ASEAN Energy Awards, where the innovation team received the "Sixth ASEAN Large-Scale Enterprise Coal Use Excellence Management Award," further demonstrating our commitment to sustainable innovation.
