Hongfa Weili Alumina Company plays a vital role in our internationalization path as it is the pioneer project of our commitment to China's "One Belt, One Road" initiative

This project is one of the three major economic cooperation and exchange projects of our Group in Indonesia.

It holds a very special place in our hearts because of the challenging beginnings to the successful positive impact it now has on Indonesia’s economic development and improvement of people’s livelihood.

On the one hand, Hongfa Weili Alumina Company employees and the thousands of families behind them have improved their lives and developed local communities in areas otherwise neglected.

On the other hand, Hongfa Weili was built on a swamp of an abandoned palm garden, an area unimaginable for a factory or livable neighborhood.

In the beginning, vehicles could not enter the swamp, so we drove wooden piles and backfilled soil, built a temporary road, and then built a formal road. That was the milestone we needed to make sure we could materialize our Group’s project in the area.

Looking back ten years, we are proud to see Hongfa Weili Alumina Company become China's first overseas alumina smelter and the first company in Indonesia to engage in industrial alumina production, filling the gap in Indonesia's aluminum industry chain. 

With a total production capacity of 2 million tons, the project is currently the largest alumina smelting project in Southeast Asia.
