Zhang Bo, deputy to the 14th National People's Congress and chairman of China Hongqiao Group, emphasized the importance of strengtheningscientific and technological innovation platforms in Binzhou, China Hongqiao Group’s headquarters in Shandong province.

1. Advancements in Shandong Binzhou: Zhang Bo celebrated Shandong Binzhou's efforts in leveraging traditional and emerging industries to establish a solid network of innovation platforms such as the Bohai Advanced Technology Research Institute and the Weiqiao Institute of National Science and Technology; platforms which have seen substantial growth in number and variety.

 

2. Rapid Expansion of Innovation Platforms: Zhang Bo noted the significant increase in the number of high-energy science and technology innovation platforms in Binzhou City (totalling over 424). These platforms serve as hubs for top talent and contribute to breakthroughs in critical technologies, facilitating the transformation of scientific achievements into practical applications.

 

3. Lessons from Challenges and Opportunities: after addressing existing challenges, such as the need to improve platform quality and efficiency, broaden industry coverage, and address the shortage of entities involved in platform creation, Mr. Zhang Bo highlighted opportunities presented by ongoing technological developments, particularly in fields like big data, artificial intelligence, and advanced materials.

 

4. Proposed Strategies for Future Action: Zhang Bo suggested several strategies to overcome challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities. These include strengthening support from national institutions and leading local enterprises, focusing on key industries like high-end aluminum, smart technologies, and lightweight, and fostering collaboration between innovation and industrial chains.

His recommendations provide a practical roadmap for future action, emphasizing strategic collaboration and targeted investment to propel Shandong Binzhou's innovation ecosystem forward.
